Uniqueness of Week4 Mini Project

Week 5
After I have finished this week’s mini project, I realized that the project itself is unique.
The assignment of the project links the book knowledge (what we have learned) to the real life situation. It encourages student’s creative thinking, imagination and initiatives. Maybe some day, I can apply what I have learned from the school to the real life, and combine book smart with street smart.

Painstaking Effort

Week 4

Cultivating a tea land requires painstaking effort. So does my homework. It took me a long time to figure out what the media file is. After three trials I was still unable to post my new episode to my podmatic Website. Then suddenly it dawned upon me that a picture is not a media file, and the pre-recorded file saved as mp3 format can not be converted unless I made a live recorded mp3 file. From this week’s learning process, I realized the failure is the mother of the success.

Week 3

From Zillow website I have learned the relationship between a flower and its leaves.
The designer of Zillow website has deep understanding what viewers are looking for, and what the real estate business requires. The layout of the web page is designed so well that each piece of applied information technology, audio, video, ads, and the text message directly attracts the user’s attention. The center stage - real estate business has been highlighted. This is the key to success of Zillow website.

Heightening My Horizon

Week 2

To accomplish a journey of one thousand miles one must launch a first step. To have a better view one must climb up higher. These are old Chinese sayings. They indicate no pain no gain.

From last week’s assignment I have learned that these projects are open systems with unrestricted connectivity. They are using Internet networking as their technology platform.

Absorbing the new knowledge makes me feel exciting. Building my blog step by step makes me feel reaching out.

Learning experience

Week 1

Cooking is one of my hobbies.

To prepare a dish is a kind of processing. It requires basic cooking materials, the right cooking ware, adequate seasonings, and the length of cooking time as well as the temperature.

Building a blog also requires three components: collecting pictures and music, selecting right information technology and then posting them.

The process of building a blog encourages me not to be intimated by the new technology.

Furthermore, the process of building a blog is the process of accumulating my tacit knowledge. Knowledge is the power and knowledge is the future.

My name is Qiao Chen. I am proud of being an online student at UMUC. This is a new experience in my life to build my blog virgin.
I got my BS degree in computer science from Hood College 2008. Now I would like to continue my education to get my master's at UMUC.
I am an employee of government contractor in Frederick, MD.
In my spare time, I like gardening, cooking, reading and playing Tai Chi.
